Views of Paris

Paris is a beautiful city and holds some very special memories for me as it is where I spent my honeymoon with my wife Janet. For a painter who sees light as the essential ingredient in their painting, Paris has to be one of the places to visit. I feel a real connection with the city, maybe it’s my programming, who care’s it makes me want to paint.

I’ve only recently started to paint places and views. I was told by one of my lectures Art College that if you could paint people you’d never be out of work (thanks Roy Winderbank), so for years that’s all I wanted to paint. When I first visited Paris all I looked for was images of people, the place was secondary. Now I want to paint everything, I feel liberated and I see paintings everywhere I look.
